ONE YEAR! YAY!

So now we've been married for over a year. It has gone by SO fast! It's kind of been just a whirlwind year. I really like school (one of the few) and I want to get my Masters while we are here and getting school paid for but at the same time I'm getting anxious to find a church and get our full time ministry started and get settled. Its getting kind of annoying to juggle work, school and ministry schedules. Right now it's not too bad because it's summer and I'm not working right now, which is a much needed break. However, it is already the end of June and I know that August 18 (first day of fall classes) is going to come fast. I'm happy that this fall semester 4 out of my 5 classes are DLP so that I can work more. DLP classes are so much easier to manage even though they claim to be more intense since they are only 8 weeks long. I don't think they are at all. There are way less assignments. Thats why I'm taking my left-over classes DLP (meaning the classes I should have taken way before now and now don't want to take on campus with freshman who are dumb.) haha. I'm taking 2 englishes, a computer class, and a Bible class DLP, then a womens ministry (instead of pastoral leadership for youth majors who are girls) on campus because its only offered on campus with Dr. Towns' wife. All in all, it should be a pretty breeze-by semester other than Bible 350. Summer classes definitely helped with that! I'm still not sure what to get my Masters in. I have to go talk to Dr. Barker soon. He's an amazing prof!

I filled out my graduation application last week which was pretty exciting. It's crazy to think that I'm so close to finishing my undergrad. I remember being so nervous to come to Liberty on my own and now I'm almost finished. I've made so many great friends. I met my husband. I've learned so much. I've grown so much closer to God. So many great things have come from here. I'm not that anxious to leave Lynchburg... I like it here alot. I'm just ready to settle down somewhere. I can't wait to get a house and be able to paint it and decorate it how we want without having to worry about landlords and all that fun stuff. I want to get a puppy, or at least a fish. I want to have more than just a small apartment. I know its all part of "starting out" but I'm ready to be started and on our way. I'm looking forward to having kids too, but definitely not too anxious for them anytime soon.... maybe 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 years down the road. Just kidding. Not that far... but not this soon either. I don't really know what I'd do with a baby right now... I guess just watch it sleep.

Well, my amazing husband just told me that we now have plans tonight and I have to leave in 15 minutes and I'm not exactly ready to go right now, so I'm going to go get ready to leave.

PS. I think it's funny sometimes when people over spiritualize things to the point where you and everyone else have absolutely no idea how they connected the points and related them together to make something spiritual out of it. Sometimes it's just better to KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid. (My mom would always say that... well not always, but she's where I heard it from.)

Well, I'm pretty much just sitting here waiting for Rob to finish his homework so that we can go to bed. I tried getting a lot of work done today... I got lots of laundry done, speaking of, I need to put the last load in the dryer before going to bed, can't forget. I tried to get homework done, but I was just not registering what I was reading. So.... forget it. I'll finish tomorrow. Next week I am not watching any TV, because I have a ton of work to get done. I have to start and finish my Romans paper, then start my Sociology class. There is a lot of reading in that class, but I'm really excited because it looks really interesting. It's Sociology Issues, so it's about a lot of stuff that I will be, or already have been dealing with while working with youth. Yay! Rob is done! I'll write more later! I'm going to bed!! My eyes burn.

Changes as a Wife...

Since getting married, I've realized that I've become way more "girly." I've often wondered if it's really me, or just hormones from birth control pills, I don't know. Maybe both. Growing up, I hardly ever cried, if I did cry, either I was super super tired, or something huge happened. Now, things have changed. It feels like it changed the second I got married. I cried our entire wedding night. I cried every day during our honeymoon. Not because I was sad, but because I was happy. But usually when I'm happy, I laugh, not cry. I think I just am overwhelmed by all of this stuff that is happening to me. Now, I cry in movies. Tonight, Rob turned the TV on at 6:55 and we saw the last 4 minutes of Monk and just in watching that, it made me cry. It was when Monk gets attached to the little boy. Then tonight I watched House, and I cried when Wilsons wife died. A month back we watched P.S. I Love You (amazing movie) and I literally cried 7 times... in 1 movie! Unheard of (for me)! I remember always laughing at my dad for not being able to watch certain shows without crying, and now I'm doing the exact same thing. I don't cry at Leave It To Beaver though, I'm not as bad as he is. But anything where a spouse dies I cry my eyes out because I can't imagine losing Rob. I couldn't do it. Anything where a baby or child dies, I cry because I'm scared out of my mind to lose a child. I guess where I'm at right now is a whole new perspective of life than where I was before getting married. I've never been this "girly." haha. Well... Rob's going to be home soon. He went with a friend to a movie. Bye for now!

ITS SUMMER! (kinda)

I am so thankful that this semester is over! It's been a great semester, but a seriously crazy and busy semester with neverending work. But now, I still have work as I just started 2 more summer classes. I also just realized that I have 4 chapters to read tonight, and I was thinking that I had about an hour of free time right now. Oops. I'll get it done!

My Goals for the Summer:

GET BACK INTO SHAPE (all I've done this past semester was homework, work, and eat... bad combination)
LEARN TO PLAY FRISBEE GOLF
SPEND LOTS AND LOTS OF TIME WITH ROB (I love him!)
GO TO CAMP (if I can find a cheap plane ticket)
CLEAN OUT THE STORAGE CLOSET
ORGANIZE ALL OUR CLOTHES BY SEASON
WORK ON MY TAN :)
GO TO SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE
DECIDE FOR SURE WHAT TO GO TO GRAD SCHOOL FOR (Have to talk to some people)
READ A BOOK OTHER THAN A SCHOOL BOOK
LEARN A NEW DANCE
FIND SOME NEW RECIPES
HAVE FUN!

I'm sure I'll find others as the summer goes on. One goal I had was to go hiking up to the monogram cuz I still haven't done that, but I read this article in the paper this morning about how there have been an abundance of black bear sightings lately in Campbell County, so I think I'll pass on the mountain.

Well, now I have to go hop in the shower since I just worked out. It felt nice, but made me realize how out of shape I am. I still blame it on mono. haha. Mono sucks. I still feel tired alot from it and its been 18 long months. Stupid. After my shower I'd better start reading before I go pick up Rob from work!

In my last post, I meant to say Spring break is now over. not spring. SPRING HAS JUST BEGAN! YAY!

Almost there....

Spring is now over. Nothing exciting took place, other than the Saturday before it ended when we took a trip to DC, that was fun, but very tiring. I can't believe that April is almost here. Time goes by SO fast! I like it when weekdays and work and classes go by fast, but sometimes they go by too fast and I get overwhelmed because I have an incredible amount of work to get done and it just seems like not enough time to finish it. At the same time, weekends also go by way too fast. I wish they would slow down! May will be here soon.... end of the semester! YAY! Then the monday after graduation, I start my first summer intensive. Not much of a break. I still don't know what I'm going to be doing this summer. I don't know what to expect with my intensives and other summer classes (4 in all) and don't know how "intense" they will be, since I've never taken one before, and don't know what to expect. Could be an interesting summer. I need to focus on the present right now though, not the future.

Rob and I are going to lunch today! I'm excited. He'll be here any minute. I don't really have much else to say for now. I haven't slept much lately, so my mind is kinda blah right now. Oh well.
